The grade is built from three complementary questions about how the deck functions.

PAN is an inference tool, not a rules engine or tournament authority. It describes the strongest patterns it sees in the submitted 100-card list and may interpret unusual decks differently than their builder does.

5. Cross-Archetype Architecture Validation Diagnostic only

6. PAN Card Interpretation
Scryfall supplies card facts; PAN interprets intrinsic card Pressure. v0.9.8 adds a deck-level Threat Urgency layer: immediate harm, ongoing/escalating harm, conversion toward victory, closure, and threat persistence. Persistence amplifies demonstrated threats; it does not manufacture Pressure by itself.

7. PAN Strategic Fingerprint
Schema v1 combines trusted manual records with contextual Oracle-text inference. v0.9.41 adds Strategic Concentration Qualification for repeated creature types and keywords while preserving scoring. v0.9.40b separates primary terminal wins from supporting strategic packages. Win Narrative Consistency remains preserved: “How it wins” now uses the same already-recognized Competitive Architecture activation boundary as the game-plan and PAN’s Take layers. Analyzer logic, P/A/N/PAN scoring, architecture detection, Incremental Closure / Pinging recognition, and the v0.9.40 validation harness remain unchanged. The Requirement Compatibility Gate, Architectural Role Ownership, and causal-core recognition remain unchanged: confirmed loops distinguish causal Engine Core cards from necessary Loop Partners and interchangeable Infrastructure Contributors. Merely satisfying an engine requirement no longer makes a card an Engine. Theme participation remains a percentage of all 100 deck slots, and cards may participate in multiple themes.
Strategic Role Recognition Diagnostic only
Roles describe how recognized behavior contributes to deck architecture. Cards may occupy multiple roles. v0.9.37 preserves the frozen v0.9.36c architecture engine while assigning generalized roles to the smallest causally necessary set. Engine Core creates recursion; Loop Partner completes the cycle; Infrastructure Contributor supplies interchangeable resources without inheriting Engine/Conversion. The frozen v0.9.36c engine uses normalized Oracle/type accessors so cast-trigger engines own their causal core and only resources inside the reset domain qualify as infrastructure. Infrastructure-only mana development is not treated as strategic identity.

v0.9.39 preserves the v0.9.36c compatibility proof, ownership model, causal-core recognition, and reset-domain recognition beneath the player-facing report. Engine Core cards create the recursive mechanism; Loop Partners are specifically required to close it; interchangeable mana or other resources are Infrastructure Contributors and do not become strategic Engines merely by being usable.

Recognizes when multiple individually non-terminal cards create a repeatable loop, an unbounded resource, or a closure route. v0.9.35 separates enablers from outlets: engine pieces may gain Conversion, but only a demonstrated game-ending outlet gains contextual Closure. Detection remains diagnostic-only.
v0.9.9.3 preserves Threat Urgency and adds draw-weighted Temporal Network Availability to the diagnostic pressure curve: How urgently does this need to be stopped?, If it is stopped, how likely is the problem to stay stopped?, and When one threat fires, how strongly does the network cause more threat to fire? Threat Persistence and Threat Propagation only amplify a demonstrated threat base.

7. Competitive Strategy Recognition
v0.9.4 preserves Competitive Architecture Networking and Competitive Pressure Architecture, then adds Competitive Access Architecture. v0.9.35 repairs the separate diagnostic multi-card architecture detector; it still does not feed Competitive Access/Pressure/Networking scoring.
8. Hapatra Calibration Card Data
This embedded dataset contains the Hapatra Balanced v2 calibration deck and remains available as a local fallback/cache when Scryfall is unavailable or a lookup fails.
